Wishing you all the classic joys of Christmas.
Austin Streamline By the 1950s the
Texas Special, a joint Katy and Frisco passenger train, was regarded as
one of the most profitable streamliners in America. In the early years the
locomotives as well as all the cars were bright red with shining corrugated
aluminum side panels, a common feature of the streamline and chrome era of the
mid-20th century. Here the Texas Special departs Austin, Texas on the
last leg of its journey from St. Louis to San Antonio.
