Round Valley Rendezvous The passing of two trains breaks the quiet of the air near Morgan, Utah on a crisp morning in the 1940s. We are trackside at bridge number six on the Union Pacific Railroad’s busy main line through the Wasatch Mountains. Locomotive No. 3901 leads an eastbound freight over the Weber River and a CA-1 caboose brings up the rear of westbound freight. Number 3901 is a “Challenger” type engine, designed to pull heavy loads in mountainous territory. In a few moments the trains will have passed and quiet will return to Round Valley.
